Bob Hawke Former Australian Prime Minister Downs a Beer In front of a Cheering Crowd

The man who shouted Bob Hawke Australia's former Prime Minister in the 1980s a beer at the Sydney cricket test has described the former prime minister as a "legend".

Glenn Brandon, from Berry in NSW, took the opportunity to have a drink with the 82-year-old as he walked past with wife Blanche d'Alpuget on the second day of the test on January 4 2012.

As the crowd "went wild" Hawke downed the cup of Carlton Midstrength in a single gulp.

Not bad for an 82 year old.
